This is the video of the national anthem of Russian Federation (”Gosudarstvenny Gimn Rossiyskoy Federatsii” in Russian) featuring both English and Russian versions of lyrics. Music was written by Alexander Alexandrov (basically the same music as for the Soviet anthem, composed in 1943) and words by Sergey Mikhalkov and Gabriel El-Registan. The new Russian anthem was first used officially on 30 December 2000 during a ceremony at the Great Kremlin Palace in Moscow.

I think this is a georgeous anthem. ^^ I love evrything about Russia. The language, the architecture, the history, THE FOOD! It’s all great. Who cares if they don’t have the best past? Neither does America. We should appreciate culture.

It’s awesome! My old friend who doesn’t like Russians even said “It sounds beautiful!” Why the hell did they change it to Fatherland?! Russia sounds better as a Motherland! Even the name “Russia” sounds more feminine to me than masculine D:>

Not completely, actualy… Both of ours alphabets are from ancient Greece by origin. Yours is just too much modifcated from origin.
“kak vas zovout? (как Вас зовут?)” – more correct
, but your version sounds understandable to.
