Moon in Capricorn & Mercury in Virgo & Mercury Pluto Trine (August 2 – 3, 2009)
Astrology gives us a view into the mysteries of the wheel of life turning with a look into the sky overhead and more understanding of the longing of the heart. Gaining insight and higher levels of understanding guides us to make smarter choices and integrate from that inner place of contemplation.
Moon and Mercury
These two planets are the fastest moving fixtures in the heavens. Following their procession through the wheel of the zodiac gets us in touch with a deeper awareness for our feelings and our mental activities. And they always give us new combinations of potential integration between those two inner forces.
The lunar astrology shows us how we will tend to react emotionally and teaches us the impermanence of the world of feelings in their constant movement.
Mercury as the messenger from the Gods is giving us insight into all our mental activities as well as into our communication and contact-fullness with the world and others.
I have talked about the dynamic of contraction and expansion moving from one sign through to the next.
After the intensity of the Moon in Scorpio the last two days we are in a quieter more socially oriented movement again.
Moon in Capricorn
The emotional angle of this Moon will put us into a more serious, somber mood. It wants us to take full responsibility for our feelings and needs and take action. Self-responsibility and responsibility for others are big words for Capricorn.
Capricorn: The Conservative Pragmatist
Dec 22âJan 20
Ruling Planet: Saturn
Element: Earth
Gender: Feminine  Â
As people mature, they move from self-centered to be more oriented toward others. They begin to have a sense of their responsibility toward society. Capricorn is the first sign in the last quarter of the yearly cycle, representing this social stage. Capricorns seek to be in visible positions of power and prestige in society. Their high degree of organization, discipline, ambition, and intelligence make them perfect as leaders of organizations of all types, in government, business, and the military. Their conservative values and black-and-white thinking can make them inflexible with respect to morality. They are bent on success, holding high standards for themselves and others.
Mercury in Virgo
In Roman mythology Mercury, the god of commerce, travel, and thieves, carried messages among the gods, and thus Mercury is strongly associated with everything involving communicationâspeaking writing, the media, even our internal communication. Mercury rules all things related to the mind and our internal life: rational thinking, intellect, intelligence, curiosity, learning, and memory.
Mercury with his winged feet moved swiftly among the gods, and the planet Mercury is the fastest moving planet in the Solar System. Therefore Mercury is associated with movement, transportation, and journeys, and by extension, our personal and spiritual progress.
Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo, the 3rd House (Communication & Excursions) and the 6th House (Work & Health). In the body Mercury rules the nervous system, lungs, shoulders, arms, and hands.
As you can see Mercury is quiet at home in Virgo. You can use his presence there to take more charge in those areas of your life.
Suggestion
Moon in Capricorn and Mercury in Virgo, both are in earth signs. Here is such wonderful opportunity to balance our rational mind with the inner world of our feelings.
Sitting down with my journal is my favorite way to tune in with myself and gain clarity about my inner process. Many potent life changing decisions have been made out of those rendezvousâ with my inner self.
I have Gemini rising and obviously I am a writer. For me talking or journaling has always been my way to gain clarity and figure things out. I love the fresh and different perspective of my girl friends when I share with them of what is happening in my life.
But there is something about the journaling which allows me to tap into a deeper layer of my own soul, a higher consciousness which makes it an almost sacred process.
There are different entry ways into the divine for each of us. Music, dancing, painting, meditating or journaling are my favorite ones. If you donât have found one yet, try out the journaling today and see how you like it!
This is a day for clarity and focus onto what is really important to you, especially in the area of your work and health. Do a little inquiry and ask yourself some questions!
How is your health? Do you take care for yourself well with good nutrition, enough rest and exercise? Do you feel the need for some new direction and decisions there? What can you do different in that area to get a different result then before? Do you need support? Where could you find that?
How does your work fit in with your life? Do you work to live or do you live to work?
Are you passionate about what you are doing? What did you dream to become when you were a child? What was it you wanted to do?
Asking questions like that and taking the time to listen is a very powerful way of inner growth and transformation.
Mercury Pluto Trine
Whenever Pluto is involved we have a chance to grow. Sometimes we will feel like pushed into it and our only salvation is stand up tall and give it our best. With this trine it is more like a subtle invitation, beckoning us towards a deeper connection within and life.
It is a fast moving transit so use it well for your journey inside. Be honest and truthful about where you are in your life and what your dreams are. Only then you will have taken the first step onto the path to the fulfillment of those dreams.
