Is it right time to visit niagara falls? pls suggest what are the attractions?

Hi, I am staying in cleveland, OH, USA on L1 visa,basically from India. I am leaving cleveland shortly, before that i want to visit niagara falls… is it right time to visit? If so, where to stay? what to see? how to travel from cleveland ( any public transfort?) Pls guide me!! thanks in advance

winter is a great time, the mist from the falls coats everything ina surreal layer of thin ice–its really neat looking
