I had a USA tour guide when I went on a 12 day tour of Canada and from the comments he made he wasn’t getting paid a real lot and like a lot of American customer service orientated jobs he was relying on tips. Of course he may have just been milking us but he did a very good job and consequently he got those tips he was relying on
